About the data
TeacherPH Schools turns the Department of Education's public school data into a page for each school and each area. This page says where the figures come from, how they were checked, how the ratios are worked out, and where the data stops.
What this directory is
The directory lists 60,759 schools in the Department of Education's (DepEd) public data: public schools, private schools, state and local university and college schools, and Philippine schools overseas. Each has its own page with its learners and, for public schools, its teachers, classrooms and facilities. Region, province, municipality, division and district pages add up the schools in each place.
Alternative Learning System (ALS) community learning centres have no page of their own. Their learners count in the area pages.
TeacherPH Schools is made by Mark Anthony Llego for TeacherPH. It is not affiliated with DepEd and is not DepEd's website.
Where the data comes from
The figures come from DepEd's public Fabric report, as refreshed on 25 October 2025. The directory covers SY 2023-24 and SY 2024-25. A school's page shows SY 2024-25, the latest school year, with the change from the year before.
Each school year's figures follow that year's DepEd location. The Negros Island Region began in 2024, so a school DepEd moved into it counts in its old region for SY 2023-24 and in the new region for SY 2024-25. A school's page address uses its latest location and name.
How the data was checked
- Totals are DepEd's own control totals: learners, senior high school learners, IP learners and toilets. Learners for each school year and sector add up to DepEd's dashboard exactly, and the export that builds this site stops when they do not.
- An area's school count and its formal (non-ALS) learners equal the sum of its schools. ALS learners are added on top.
- A grade and sex table is called exact only when it adds up to the total. Otherwise it says "at least" and shows the rest as "not broken down".
- MOOE, the maintenance and other operating expenses budget, is by fiscal year as DepEd records it, and is never added across years.
- A school's map and coordinates appear only when its location data passed review. Seat counts are approximate.
- Review rules look for figures that are unlikely or that disagree with each other. A school whose figures tripped a rule shows a plain note under "About this data" on its page, and the page stays public. A note means the figure deserves a second look, not that it is wrong.
How ratios are worked out
- Learners per teacher
- Learners divided by teachers
- Learners per classroom
- Learners divided by instructional rooms
- Learners per seat
- Learners divided by seats
- Learners per toilet
- Learners divided by toilets
- Learners per computer
- Learners divided by functional computers
Ratios are shown to one decimal place. When the resource is zero or not recorded, the ratio reads "Not reported", not 0 and not a very large number.
On area pages, a per-level ratio divides the learners at a level by the resources recorded for that level. Junior HS ratios may read high: about 9% of junior high schools record no rooms at that level, so their junior high learners are counted and no junior high rooms are.
Medians and percentiles
A public school's page compares it with public schools of the same kind: the same school year and the same grades offered, such as elementary only. The comparison group is the school's division; the region and the whole country have their own medians.
The median is the middle value of those schools' ratios: half have fewer learners per resource and half have more. Medians are worked out from unrounded ratios and then shown to one decimal place. A school with no ratio for a measure is left out of that measure.
The percentile is the share of schools in the division, with the same offering, that have as many learners per resource or fewer, rounded to a whole number. 50% is the median. 90% means nine in ten of those schools have the same or fewer, so the school has more learners per teacher, classroom, toilet or computer than most. A school alone in its group has no comparison.
Private, SUC or LUC and overseas schools have no staff or facilities data in DepEd's public report. They are ranked by learners among schools of the same sector in their municipality instead.
How area totals work
An area page adds up the schools DepEd placed in the area in each school year. Where an area's boundaries changed between the two years, the page shows no change figure, because the two totals cover different schools. It says: "Boundaries changed between school years, so no change is shown."
District totals exclude ALS community learning centres, which DepEd does not assign to districts. Other areas count them.
Limits of the data
- DepEd's public report has staff and facilities data for public schools only. Other school pages show enrollment.
- A missing value reads "Not reported". It is never shown as zero.
- Some schools appear only in SY 2023-24. Their pages say so and show that year's figures.
- The toilet breakdown by type for SY 2023-24 in DepEd's export is incomplete: the types add up to less than DepEd's own toilet total. Area pages use DepEd's total for the headline figure and call the breakdown "at least".
- In DepEd's export, Senior High School track totals can add up to more than the Senior High School learners, and pages show the track breakdown as DepEd reports it.
- Room counts are DepEd's totals. The room-by-room usage table in the export lost more than a third of its rows, so it is not used.
- School names are as DepEd writes them, except that a name written wholly in capitals is shown in title case and some province names, such as Metro Manila's, are tidied.
Report a correction
If a figure looks wrong, use "Report a correction" on the school's page or write to TeacherPH. Give the school ID, the figure, and what you expect it to be, so it can be compared with DepEd's report. When the mistake is in DepEd's data, only DepEd can correct it at the source.
